Adjudication process for Blackbox and Mainstage (PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THE STEPS):

1. Fill out Main Stage/Black Box Adjudication Form by September 1st, 2017. This form is just stating your intention to do a show for festival and giving us information about your show.

2. Package with your DVD, show program, and signed acknowledgment form by your principal are due by September 21st, 2017.

3. You will be notified if you are chosen for Black Box or Main Stage by October 9th, 2017 so that you can modify your registration if need by October 13th.

4. DVD Information is below:

  • The show must be shot from a static, single camera and must be on a continuous loop (no editing to the submitted DVD).
    • Make the audio and the visual recording as clear as possible. If the performance is recorded with a live audience, make sure that audience sounds do not disturb the recording of the dialogue.
    • Possibly place the audio pickup microphone close to the actors, or use a highly directional microphone or perhaps even use individual microphones on the speaking actors.
    • It is permissible to pan the camera side to side and to zoom in or out in order to better frame intimate or full stage scenes.
    • Ideally the director might be the best camera operator because the director can best anticipate entrances and exits of characters and know where the focus should be on key scenes.
